Hanif Willis-Abdurraqib is a poet, essayist, and dessert enthusiast from Columbus, Ohio. He is the editor of Again I Wait For This To Pull Apart, an anthology of poems relating to music, released by Freezeray Press in 2015. His work has been published in Muzzle, Vinyl, PEN American, and various other journals. He has been nominated for the pushcart prizee, and his poem "Hestia" won the 2014 Capital University poetry prize. His first full length collection, The Crown Ain't Worth Much, is forthcoming in 2016 from Button Poetry / Exploding Pinecone Press.

He is also an essayist, with a focus on music and culture at the intersection of race, gender, and American history. Sometimes he writes silly things about rap to make people (mostly himself) laugh.
